Our Future Forum’s Comment
In our second Our Future Forum meetup, we discuss the future of privacy, with the conversation centered on blockchain technology.
The application of blockchain in the world is steadily growing, from initial disruptions in finance — such as with Bitcoin — to the current expansion of blockchain’s application to areas such as healthcare, file storage, shipping, food labeling and much more.
With respect to privacy specifically, however, we ask the question: will the growing adoption of blockchain be for better or worse?
Applications without blockchain collect so much individual user data already, with some even having entire business models dependent on being able to sell this data to 3rd party enterprises.
How will a global future look where data is stored on the blockchain in immutable form? Is it possible to truly have privacy in 2018? How will the regulation of the cryptocurrency investment market impact privacy? What are the solutions now — and in the future — that will most impact privacy in this new world taking shape? Is the very definition of privacy changing?
Join us as we discuss questions such as these.
As well, we will hear from individuals involved in areas related to privacy, blockchain and/or other adjacent fields integral to our future of privacy.
On the panel we will have:
– Jane Lippencott, Founding Team of ZenCash
– Mike De’Shazer, CEO of Proof Suite
– Paul Lee, M.D., Founder of Mind.ai
– Marc Raphael, Founder of KeySupreme
Light snacks and drinks will be available.
